MANIPUR MILITANT AMBUSH, 15-20 JAWAANS KILLED

HYDERABAD: At least 15-20 army personnel were killed and ten injured on Thursday when an insurgent group ambushed their patrol in Chandel district of Manipur.
A team of 6 Dogra Regiment was on a road opening patrol as part of their daily routine along Tengnoupal-New Samtal road, about 80 km from here, it was ambushed by an unidentified insurgent outfit with a powerful Improvised Explosive Device, a police official said in Imphal.
The injured jawans were airlifted by the Army for treatment, police said.
In Delhi, Army sources said at least 15-20 army personnel were killed and 10 injured in the attack, which took place at 8 am when the convoy reached a place between Paralong and Charong villages.
