'Indian Idol Junior' salutes the spirit of ‘Young Army Man’

Hyderabad: Gaurav Sharma, a 11-year old knows how to face life's challenges from an early age. When he was 5 month old, Gaurav fell into a pan with hot oil. After going through excruciating pain and medical treatment for three and half years, Gaurav is still full of zest and confidence. He won the judges' hearts during 'Indian Idiol Junior '15' auditions by singing a Bhagat Singh Song in a narrative style and talking about patriotism. Gaurav learnt singing from TV. He loves playing badminton and cricket with his society friends and makes sure he assists his father to the farm everyday where he plays with mud, helps him out in farming and picks up pumps.

Judge Salim Merchant is already in awe of this boy and says "I was taken aback by the dedication and devotion he has for the country. Such attitude and never to die spirit is rare to find. This sure is enough to give me jitters. I had goose bumps and I could feel my hair rising. What voice! What confidence! He is a true Bhagat Singh follower and a patriot and fighter like him. I salute this young soldier who wants to go on the border and fight for his country. If we have a couple of more youngsters like him, trust me our world would touch the sky."

Acclaimed music director and also a judge on the show, Vishal Dadlani adds, "Shahid Bhagat Singh was such a courageous man, who not only sacrificed his life for his country but it's because of freedom fighters like him that we are living here in this open and free country. I bow my head and with all humility pay homage to him. And by singing this song, Gaurav just won my heart and made me completely emotional."

And the praises just didn't stop here. The judges were so moved that they couldn't stop clapping. Singer turned judge, Shalmali Kholgade couldn't help herself from crying and Vishal just couldn't control himself from running to the stage and hugging the young soldier. The three of them really got emotional when Gaurav was asked what would he want to become, and he replied without a blink that he wants to be an army man to serve his country.

Vishal says, "He is surely a 'Sher' and as judges of 'Indian Idol', we had to do something which would inspire him and make him remember us and Indian Idol. So without wasting anytime, the three of us decided to sponsor his education and help him in every financial way possible so that tomorrow he can become an officer and just not an army man"
