Police sub-inspector shoots himself dead with service revolver

Karimnagar: A 35-year-old police sub-inspector Jagan Mohan of Peddapalli Police Station allegedly shot himself with his service revolver at his residence last night police said on Saturday. The deceased's family members said that he was apparently upset with his transfer as he was expecting promotion as a Circle Inspector sometime soon.
A suicide note was recovered from the site, DSP Malla Reddy said, adding Mohan hailed from Vidyanagar locality of this district and is survived by his wife.
Mohan was recently transferred to Jammikunta, however he was yet to be relieved from Peddapalli police station."The exact reason behind the officer committing suicide is not yet known. The suicide note was handed over to revenue officials and the body has been sent for post mortem," Superintendent of Police, Karimnagar, D Joel Davis said.
