Following the positive response
to Tanu Weds Manu in February 2011, the team considered making a
sequel to carry the story forward showing the next chapter of the couple's
life. The lead couple Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut both announced their interest of being a part of
a proposed sequel, months after the original's release. In September
2011, Sunil Lulla of Eros
International announced that they had
signed on director Anand L. Rai to
work on a second part of the film titled Tanu Weds Manu.
Tanu Weds Manu Returns is
an upcoming Hindi romantic comedy film directed by Anand
L. Rai. The film is a sequel to Tanu Weds
Manu (2011), in which stars Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan reprise their roles from the original. Ranaut
also portrays the additional role of a Haryanvi athlete in the film. Tanu
Weds Manu Returns is scheduled for release on May 22, 2015.
The official first trailer was
released on 14th April 2015 and got a huge response with an amount
of 3,247,115 viewers till today. If the first trailer of Tanu Weds
Manu Returns is anything to go by, then it is going to be a film worth
watching. Director Anand L Rai’s sequel of 2011 film Tanu Weds Manu features
Kangana Ranaut, R Madhavan and Deepak Dobriyal in pivotal roles.
The story begins with
Tanuja Trivedi (Kangana) returning from London, and how she is giving nightmares
to her father. Her relationship with Manoj Sharma (Madhavan) has soured and
that has prompted Manoj to look for love outside the existing relationship.
Manoj meets Kusum (Kangana) during his pursuit, but things are not going to
remain smooth after a point.
Kangana Ranaut's double role
has already upped your expectations, get ready for one of the most happening
songs of the year. Banno, which was
released along with the trailer has already created quite a sensation, thanks
to its peppy and groovy beats. But the video takes the anticipation few notches
higher.
